A Brief History of Frontline
In 1995 Mr. Theiler started working with software engineers to develop his ideas. Finally in 2000 Mr. Theiler was able to start working full time developing the software. By 2002 a patent application was applied for and the first industry chosen to use the program was a hospital.
By early 2003 St Lukes Hospital in San Francisco (a Sutter affiliate) signed a contract with Frontline Software Solutions and trialed the program for six months. Within the six month trial period the hospital executives were confident that program was providing productivity software solutions and effectively empowering departmental managers with 'real time' information to proactively optimize their labor resources. This resulted in the successful implementation of the program into every department throughout the hospital.
In 2004 the software interface was improved that dramatically reduced the amount of time that users were required to interact with the program.
By mid 2005 the program had been successfully trialed on several nursing units at the Lucille Packard Chlidren's Hospital, Stanford Medical Center with the potential for expansion into the other nursing departments within the next few months.
